About Lisa Ketty

I work with machine board — the heavy, acid-free cardboard used in framing workshops. It comes to me as surplus material in good condition, and I cut it apart, build it back up in layers and paint it until the board itself becomes the work.

Because the board is acid-free, the works last for years without yellowing or breaking down. Each relief keeps to one colour and a strict geometry, and the shadows from the raised edges shift as the light changes through the day.

I also work with paper pulp, which I make myself from either cardboard or white paper, never a mix of the two. I shape it by hand into masks and reliefs, and the surface dries rough and uneven, so no two pieces are alike.

In the summer of 2026 I started working with cotton yarn as well. I cut the yarn by hand into short fibres, bind them with a flour paste I cook myself and shape the mass by hand. This is the newest part of my work.

I have sold my work at the design markets at Trapholt Kunstmuseum and Finders Keepers, and I sell my original work here on lisaketty.com.
